In October, the Festival of Lights will once again light up Berlin. Under this year’s theme , “Colors of Love,” well-known landmarks, buildings, and squares throughout the city will be illuminated with artistic light installations and impressive 3D video projections.
Special Tip: In 2026, the “Festival of Lights in Concert” will once again combine light art and music at Berlin Cathedral. From October 13 to 17, immersive projections and live music will create a special experience amidst the historic architecture.

2. German Unity Day & TV Tower Birthday
On October 3, there will be two reasons to celebrate in Berlin: In addition to German Unity Day, the Berlin TV Tower will also be celebrating its 57th birthday! 🎉
While many stores will be closed on this holiday, the TV Tower will be open as usual. From the observation deck to the Sphere Bar to the Sphere Tim Raue restaurant, you can experience Berlin from above and spend this special day enjoying the view, drinks, or a meal overlooking the city.

3. Berlin Food Week
A culinary highlight in October is Berlin Food Week. From October 5 to 11, the capital city is all about indulgence, new food ideas, and exciting concepts from the culinary scene. Innovative startups will come together with artisans, producers, and creative restaurateurs—with a special focus on quality, origin, and sustainability.
Special Tip: On October 9 and 10, the House of Food will take place at BIKINI Berlin. There, you can discover and sample new food products, meet producers in person, and sample the latest trends in the food scene.

4. Cirque du Soleil – ALIZÉ
A special highlight of the October lineup is Cirque du Soleil – ALIZÉ. Following its premiere last year, Cirque du Soleil’s first permanent European residency show will continue to delight audiences at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz in 2026.
ALIZÉ combines spectacular acrobatics with magic and visual effects to create a form developed specifically for the show called “Acromagic.” The boundaries between reality and illusion blur, and some of the acts even take place right above the audience’s heads.

5. Jazzfest Berlin
Since 1964, the Jazzfest Berlin has been one of Europe’s most traditional jazz festivals.
